Introducing: Alle Farben
Electronic Music for people who don’t really like electronic music – is that possible? Yes, if you’re Alle Farben aka Frans Zimmer, it is.
Not least since his legendary gig at Tempelhofer Feld in 2012, when suddenly there were 30.000 instead of the expected 5.000 partying to his music, the Berlin DJ has been riding the wave of success – he’s ruling the charts. This summer he’s bringing back an old classic for us with a cover version of the Raemon classic Supergirl.
Despite his success the likeable artist has remained very down to earth. For years the son of bric-a-brac traders has been living in the same apartment in Berlin-Kreuzberg. Lucky us, the American Tourister team was allowed to visit Frans and his two cats there, watch him cook and accompany him to a gig.
Not long ago, Frans celebrated his 30th birthday. This time the former pastry chef left making the cake to his mother as he’s simply out of time. Same goes for pen and paper, which the DJ, who originally wanted to study painting and shortly got into graphic design, rarely touches anymore. Small wonder – his workload includes 100 gigs a year, countless studio days and assembly belt interview appointments.
Frans Zimmer travels the whole world, he plays clubs, open air, jungles, mountains and beaches. The only thing still missing on his venue list is the desert. But he’s certain that’s sure to happen someday.
